good drunk, bad drunk: yesterday was a teacher's bday so we had a party at another teacher's apartment. to 'sum' up the night in a mathematical equation: alcohol + korean-born korean women = bad drunks i have watched alot of korean dramas and most of them have scenes where the main character gets plastered. but last night was for real. i have never seen anybody, even in the movies/dramas, so drunk before. all the non-korean-born guys were asking, "what just happened here?" there was one woman who threw up in somebody's bed and another one crying about it. then just going crazy afterwards. me and another teacher were the only ones totally sober. most of the foreign teachers "woke up" from their buzz b/c of all this. it was a fun party up until that one teacher threw up and that's when it went downhill from there. by the end of the night, me and this foreign teacher had to take the crying teacher all the way to our school so her family member could take her home. she was screaming, pushing, and pulling all the way there. and then she kept trying to run into the main street. omg. finally her ride came, but when she was getting into the taxi with her family member, the foreign teacher thought he had pushed her into the cab so the foreign teacher got all pissed and was about to pick a fight. (he cannot tolerate men hitting women.) so i had to stop that, too. i'm glad i was sober b/c i dunno what would have happened since it seemed like nobody was doing anything to stop each other. sheesh. all the non-korean born teachers are very good drunks. even if they're drunk, they're still very pleasant to be around. maybe koreans are too stressed out or something. anyways, i came home around 3:30 and washed my hair to get the smoke smell out of it. yuck. i'm staying away from the 'bad drunk' crowd for a while. i can't take the drama and all that. i even have a scratch on my hand from all this. i wonder if they'll remember what happened. we'll find out today. haha. on a much "lighter" note, i ordered a pair of glasses for me. the ones i have now are heavy and so scratched up. my new ones are pretty and tonz lighter. doesn't even feel like i'm wearing them. gonna get them in a week or so (b/c my eyes are so weird so they need time to do my lenses). O-O :) yay the mavs beat the kings!! whoo hoo~! although kings fans will probably put an asterisk by the win since peja wasn't playing. that's FINE with me. a win's, a win. :D well, it's time for me to get ready for school. gonna be VERY interesting to see the aftermath of some of the teachers. oh and another random note, i lost some weight (after i had gained some a week ago)! Merry Christmas?: it sho don't feel like Christmas here. everybody's out shopping and eating. every store is open. i should be thankful that my SCHOOL ain't open. sheesh! so today i went out to a very nice lunch at the walker hill hotel. i ate kalbi. yum. then i went to coex mall to buy gifts for my cousin and aunt. (i guess that's the nice thing about being open on Christmas; you can still buy it today w/o the 'last-minute' rush.) there was WAY too many people at the mall. last night when i went to buy my uncle's present, it seemed like EVERYBODY was carrying a cake. during Christmas, EVERYBODY buys a cake. i'm not kidding. or gets one. we even got me. (on account of me...i'll explain later.) but yeah, bakeries had hundreds of cakes (ok, maybe not that many) lined up waiting for sweet-toothed customers. it REALLY doesn't feel like Christmas today. ok, why did we get a cake? well, a while back, after me & my cousin went to the sauna, i found a wallet in the parking garage downstairs. the owner lived downstairs. it was too late to give it to her then so my cousin gave it to her the next morning. the lady was grateful, but no reward. hmph! but alas, our reward came in the form of a cake on Christmas eve. it was very nice. unfortunately, i don't like the kind of cake she gave us, but that's ok b/c my relatives do. :) i guess that's all for now. gotta watch my drama...
hotness. kwon sang woo!! :D have a safe holiday! (^.^)v Squirted 6:21 AM by E-J YiTuesday, December 23, 2003
my second celeb sighting!: most of u young'euns will have NO idea who this is...but if you're into korean dramas, you'll know... i was eating sushi with jaewon oppa (cousin) & haewon gomo (aunt). then oppa goes in a soft voice, "hey cha in pyo. cha in pyo." then all these ahjummas eating turn around and start whispering "cha in pyo dah!" so then i looked at oppa and gomo and told them i had my camera. they told me to go. funny huH? and to get his sign. but oppa said i just need a pic. that's all. so i took my camera and walked quickly (almost running) to them. i told in korean (my spiegel): "i'm from america. i'm a HUGE fan. (i lied.) can i take 1 pics?" he said, "neh." then i told him, "drama jahl bahss suh yo." then he said, "gam sah ham nee dah." his wife was going to go stand away for a bit, but i told her to take the pic with me. she seemed to be happy after that. so i believe, his manager took the pic. the manager and i checked it, it was too blurry. by this time cha in pyo & his wife were goin upstairs. so then the manager told him he wanted to take it again. so that's where we took it again. at first the manager told me to stand in the middle, but i told him it was ok. then *click*!
yes i'm so proud of myself. if you cannot see, go to my fotos2 page and click on "people". Christmas is almost here and it doesn't even feel like it. i've bought a few presents for people here & there which is always satisfying for me, but it still doesn't feel like it. and i didn't know how different Christmas traditions in the US and korea were. in korea, you're basically a loser if you stay at home on Christmas eve. most young people my age are spending it with their significant other or friends (drinking, mostly). in the US, more people tend to spend Christmas with their family, right? i guess since i'm not with my family right now, i'm not really feeling Christmas-y. but i'm going to hang out with my relatives at home and be a "loser". :) been out buying lots of cordoroy(?) pants, knee high socks, sweaters. it's not as cold as i expected it to be, but it WILL get worse my cousin says. whoopee. saw the movie "love actually". it was ok. too many storylines to attach to any one character. i think the highlight of the movie was the black girl singing. FREAKIN' good. and i thought it was funny how the movie had that one character who goes to america b/c girls in america love guys with british accents no matter how ugly they are. haha. talked to the teacher about the whole "coupling" incident (she brought it up, not me). she said they only talked. ok, i guess i should believe her. but the other teacher who was more shocked than i was, doesn't believe that. i dunno. it's done and over with. :) i guess that's all for now. nothing more interesting to say. hope everybody has a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! and as ho said, "and lets not forget the meaning of christmas....jesus' birth not presents." what a good boy he's turning out to be.
