YOU DON'T KNOW HOW LONG I'VE WAITED FOR THIS...

the internet hadn't been working this whole time (at home that is). i couldn't update this thing at school so instead i just wrote down stuff on the computer to save for a later time so get ready...it's a long one...

long time no read: i've been lazy and pretty busy these days. plus the darn internet wouldn't work...

my dad's in korea now. we had dinner last night. roasted chicken (tong dak). it was so good. :) it's so weird that my dad's here, ya know? after dinner, we (me & my cousin) went our separate ways. it was strange that i wasn't going home with my dad. anyways, then we went to buy some cds. unfortunately they didn't have all the cd's (i was planning on buying alot), so we didn't get that much of a discount.

school's been going well. i've become better acquainted with the teachers. i'm definitely enjoying the work environment. my private tutoring is a pain to go to sometimes, but it's not so bad after i get there. chris is a cute kid so it's not hard at all. well, sometimes. hehe.

relatives can be a big pain in the butt. and i'm not talking about the ones i live with. this might sound so naive and stupid, but how can family members be so different? this week has been a "relatively" difficult week. =(

i watched the mavs/rockets game this past friday. live. finally. it was pretty even at the beginning, but in the second half, the game started to look like a NORMAL dallas vs. houston game. haha. i like this jamison fellow. he's very productive in the minutes that he plays. i watched the game in cantonese. the announcers went crazy when najera came into the game. he must be pretty popular! and this was when najera came in the 3rd quarter! i hope dallas does even better. the spurs game is coming up this week. i might go watch it with some of the teachers. should be an interesting game.

sorry i haven't been able to put up pics yet. the internet service is freakin' annoying. sometimes it works. sometimes it doesn't. aish.

i'm meeting up with sean tomorrow. at freakin' 10:30am! that's when i usually get UP. but since he's a short-term visitor (i'm a long-term one...hehe), i'll just do what he says. can't wait to see my friend. (dang, i sound like a dork.)

hope all ya'll are doing well.

btw, keep rip parker in your prayers. he's a gentleman who feeds the homeless EVERY SINGLE DAY in downtown dallas. he came down with cancer and supposedly doesn't have much time left. our Church always went along with him. he's a great inspiration and i hope that he's doing okay.

today i met up with sean. i was so tired. but we had a good time. just talking. eating. and talking some more. it was funny how sean said that he missed home and couldn't wait to come back to dallas. i guess korea's not for him anymore! this is sean "fob" kim that i'm talking about. anyways, i was glad to see a good friend again. wish more could visit. =*)

today was a tough day at school. i gave about 50 speaking tests. ugh. i was so tired that even i started yawning while talking to the kids. i'm a bad teacher, eh? haha. i did get a lil pissed off today. a while back, when i was teaching that one class, bsb's "larger than life", some teacher (from ENGLAND, of course!) said, "can you turn that music down? i could bloody barely hear anything my kids were saying" and made some comment about why they were learning songs. first of all, i turned the music way down so i wouldn't BOTHER anybody. second, he's not even the classroom next to me. he's just BLOODY sensitive. well TODAY, while i was doing the speaking test with one of my students, he peeks into the window of another teacher's class, and then into mine, right infront of me. then he opens MY class door (i'm sitting outside the door so basically he stepped infront of me) and yells to MY kids, "SHUT. UP." and closes the door. WHAT DA FREAK? if he got a problem with my class being loud, he can tell me. he doesn't have to do it himself. i gave him a nasty look, but he didn't see. he was sitting near me during the beginning of the testing, but then he told his kids to move away from me & my student b/c i bet he couldn't "BLOODY" hear them. man, i'm all trying to be nice to him b/c nobody really likes him and this is the way he treats me? now i know why nobody really likes him. he has no patience. and has a horribly strong accent that is hard to understand. ok, i'll stop now. i'll try to be nice. i'll TRY.

one thing i love about korea is their ice cream. especially popsicles. i eat one almost every day. i hardly even ate ice cream back home. strange. but korean popsicles are the best. especially after you eat a spicy meal. :D

dang what's up with the internet connection at home? (when this post is up that means it's working of course, but for now...) freakin' i can't update my blog at work. >.<

my school's been getting on my nerves lately. another foreign teacher, a bloody CANADIAN, tells another room of mine to "stop (doing something) b/c it's freakin' annoying". atleast he asked me, but i was too pissed to tell him no so he just went on it and did his thang. my kids aren't that misbehaved. these men are freakin' sensitive. get a grip!! but this is the most irritating reason of all. see, if a foreign teacher (like myself) gets another foreign teacher to work for our school (or any branch of YBM), you get paid about $700 for it. nice, huh? well sean told me his sister is wanting to work for a hagwon. so i told him that mine was a great one. which it is, of course. and that very day my boss asks me if i have any friends who are wanting to work in a hagwon. i told her i might have a prospect and she was glad. so then yesterday i asked her, JUST TO MAKE SURE, if i was going to get paid for finding somebody. she said she'll call the head office. later on during the day, she tells me NO. WHY? i asked. "b/c it is a benefit for a gyopo (korean-american) to get a job as a foreign teacher at a hagwon. so they don't pay for that." i was so mad that i didn't say anything. but a few minutes later and after clearly thinking through it, i told her that i didn't understand what she said. she repeated her answer. i told her, "it's a benefit for the NEW employee, not ME. I'M the one who is bringing the person to the school." she couldn't say anything after that. i told her that she can forget about that person coming here. ok i didn't say it like that, but i told her, then "i'm going to tell my friend to look elsewhere". WHAT DA FREAK??? WHY THE HECK WOULD I WANT TO INVITE SOMEBODY TO WORK HERE FOR NO BENEFIT FROM ME? OTHER PEOPLE GET PAID $700!! THEY WANT ME TO DO IT OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF MY HEART? I MAY BE NICE, BUT I AIN'T STUPID!! on the other hand, sean's sister will have to travel very far to the other place to work so if she really wants to work near here, i guess that's better and i'll help her out still. but i was so mad. i bet jane (who introduced sean's sister to her place) is getting a finder's fee. i'd rather SOMEBODY get SOMETHING instead of nobody getting nothing. GRRRRRRRRRRRR! THEY JUST WANT TO GET CHEAP ON ME!! #%@^$&%$^&!

ok i'm okay now. i was thrilled to hear about nash getting his first triple-double. freakin' awesome. they showed highlights on all the korean sports channels. musta been a big deal to koreans. ;D anyways, i'm happy for him. can't wait for the dallas/spurs game friday!!

i'm thinking of, well, i guess i'm going to do it. i'm going to go to a hagwon (a learning school) to learn how to gift wrap presents! haha. you can't really learn how to gift wrap well (in the US) unless you actually work in the gift wrapping dept. it's $50 for enrollment and u go 2x a week. anytime on wed & thurs. and it's one-on-one tutoring. and you just pay for the materials which are cheap. i'm hoping i'll learn alot cuz i think i suck at it. anyways, should be fun to do! :D

going shopping this weekend. saturday, me & my cousin are going to techno mart to look for a laptop for her. she's a lil computer illiterate so she wants me to help her out. (dunno if i'm much help.) then we're probably going to watch "matrix 3". Sunday, i'm going to Church with my dad. he wants to go to the english service. then we're meeting up with my dad's sister and going shopping to buy me some nice, dress(ier) clothes. ugh. i guess i'll need it sometime and i might as well use up my dad's money. haha. jk. but yeah, i'll be walking around alot this weekend.

today i ate lunch with my dad and uncle. my dad WAS going to come with me to my school, but he was busy so he's going to come some other time. after work, i met up with my cousin at techno mart. we looked at laptops for her and shopped a bit. i bought myself a roots (i LOVE their clothes) jacket for only $60! (50% sale!) uh, that doesn't mean that i like shopping now, but it was good to get a bargain. came home, watched tv, and cross-stitched. what a life. btw, i think i gained like 3lbs. why? b/c freakin' i ate domino's pizza for dinner last night at 8:30. not good, i know. but man it tasted SOOOOOOOO good. it's actually "american-style". not "korean-style" where it's NOT greasy and tastes weird. better not eat too much of it. i need to lose some more weight.

yesterday morning i watched the mavs/spurs game. exciting game!!! sad to hear it in cantonese, but man, i was covering my mouth so my relatives wouldn't hear me scream. hehe. that walker dude is doing alright. haha. i can't believe i'm going to watch these games by myself this whole season. =*( next game is dallas/lakers in a couple of weeks. yeeeee!

btw, rip parker passed away this past monday. atleast he's in Heaven now. lucky for him. :)

well, i better get ready for bed now. getting sleepy. it's SOOOOOOOO nice that the internet is working again! ;D
