so long f*****s!: i'm just quoting a line from 'bruce almighty'. i wasn't saying it to anybody in particular, ok? julie said that my dad laughed so hard at that niagra falls scene. funny. [blogger hasn't worked for days here so this post is a lil outdated, but anyway, here's TUESDAY'S entry] things have been going SUPER DUPER (dorky, huh?) over here. i've been eating alot more which is good and bad. good that i'm not starving, but bad b/c i'll probably gain weight. ugh. i'm debating whether to join my cousin's health club. it's about $85/month. but i'm so freakin' cheap that i dunno if i want to pay for that. =P autumn has arrived in korea. it's like california weather right now. daytime - shortsleeves, nighttime - sweater weather. it's really pretty. the only thing i don't get is that people are wearing like sweatshirts and leather jackets now. it's not THAT cold. even i get cold easily, but not THAT cold. sheesh. anyways, i took some pics of my cousin's neighborhood, villa, and cups i recently bought so check 'em out! :) yesterday i went to my other aunt's house (the place i was at originally) to pick up a couple of things and then i headed over to the galleria (dept store) to buy a couple of mugs. i got there around 10:20am and it wasn't opened yet. they open at 10:30. then the employees started lining up at the door. then when 10:30 came and they opened the doors, the employees started to bow and greet the incoming customers. man it was kinda embarrassing. i was like the second person in there and man it was so weird. they also do this at night when they're about to close. what service, huh? came home and watched the mavs vs. kings game where we won in OT in sac. pretty exciting game even for the 2nd time. i read today that raja's going to the jazz. i'm not so sad about that. training camp and the preseason starts soon. but it's still another month until the regular season starts. dang, i hope i can watch some games. i think i'll go crazy if i can't! [here's thursday's] man i had a weird dream last night. i must be getting desperate or something. i dreamed that i liked this white guy. in the dream, he was julie's friend, but like he was somebody i never saw before. and he wasn't particularly cute or anything. i just had alot of chemistry with him. that sounds kinda weird, but i've had "chemistry" with a few guys that i wasn't even physically attracted to really. none of them were good-looking, in fact, they were just normal, MAYBE borderline ugly. but they all had great personalities. sometimes we got along so well that i thought, "what if i actually like this guy?" but no, that never happened. and now, i don't keep in touch with any of them. funny, huh? but yeah, chemistry can be scary sometimes. had a pretty good day at school yesterday. a bit frustrating, but the pain isn't that long. haha. jk. what makes me happy is when i go home to my cousin ji yun's house. they are so super nice and super thoughtful that even tho i'm tired, i have the strength to go out and buy treats for them. yesterday i bought some ice cream since my uncle loves eating popsicles. anyways, i can't believe it has been only 2 months since i've been here. it seriously seems much longer. i know that there's this phase of culture shock that people go into after 3 months. hmm. i wonder if that will happen to me. well, today i'm going to the hyundai dept store to buy some groceries! "...all by myself..." and then i gotta lug those groceries by foot for about 2 blocks. atleast it will be some exercise, right? :) i guess that's it for now. have a great day. :D: that's what my face has been like for the past 2 days...hehe... i'm over at my other cousin's (ji yun unnie) house. the house i originally SHOULD have been at. friday at my school, all of a sudden, they're telling me that the kids have to take an oral test that day. THANKS FOR TELLING ME IN ADVANCE! sheesh! so all day i spent giving tests. afterwards, the teachers told me that there was a lil party on the roof of the school that night. i was 1) too tired and 2) wanted to go back to my aunt's to pack. and it's a GOOD thing i did that! cuz while i was on the bus, my cousin, ji yun, calls me and tells me she's about to get home and wanted to know if i wanted to eat dinner with her. of course i did! so we met up at coex and ate mcdonald's. omg, it was so delish!! :D after that, we passed by some accessories store and saw a bunch of people in it. then we saw a 40% sale sign. we went in. i bought 2 cute mugs! :) went home to my aunt's place and packed. that same night, my uncle came in a lil buzzed from drinking with some associates. he was telling me this story about his friend who went to japan and locked himself out of his hotel room. since this friend couldn't speak korean, japanese, or english very well, the guy sort of panicked. he went to the hotel lobby and went to the manager and said, "I AM HERE. KEY IN ROOM. HELP." lol! that's what u call "survivor english". the manager understood right away and helped him out. very smart. saturday my cousin came around 11:30 and picked me and my suitcases up. DANG, they were so freakin' heavy!! i dunno how i'm going to go back home. i seriously need to get one of those immigration/emmigration bags when i leave. we headed to hyundai dept store to get some groceries. in korea, there's not really any grocery stores. it's like u go to macy's, go to the bottom floor and that's where the food court and grocery store is. kinda cool. well me & my cousin bought a bunch of groceries and then ate some auntie anne's pretzels. my cousin never had it before and thought it tasted soooo good. it was pretty good! :) then we went home and chilled. and that's basically what i've been doing for the past couple of days. staying at home. watching tv. talking and laughing it up with my relatives. my uncle brought home mcdonald's last night for dinner and we were all so happy eating it. haha.
my uncle and aunt were telling me about when shinhwa lived 1 floor underneath them last winter. i was supposed to go to korea last january and could have met them!! instead my uncle got their autographs for me & my sister. my uncle told me yesterday that they lived like beggars. their villa was so dirty. so smelly. so he'd go there (my uncle is the villa "president"...something like the neighborhood leader) and tell them to "clean this filthy place up!" hilarious. they were all scared of him. my uncle would be like, "why is ur hair yellow? and why is it so long? cut it!" of course, they wouldn't, but they'd bow to him 90 degrees every time they saw him. dang i wish i could have met them!! when my uncle asked them to sign a cd for me (actually the security guard had to go in there in ask b/c my uncle was so busy), at first they were like, "man, why do we have to sign something for him? he always yells at us." but they found out that 1) my cousin bought their cd so they were happy about that and 2) that it was going to me & my sister in AMERICA. they were thrilled that the cd was for fans in america. when the security guard gave it to them to sign, there were only like 3 members there, but they said they will make sure that everybody signs it and kept the cd for a few days to make sure. and they got me & julie's names spelled corretly. it was cool. :) the scary part of that whole "shinhwa" experience was the crazy fans. my aunt said that the fans knew all the names of the people living in the villa. a couple of times, my aunt would walk by and they'd say, "lady, a package arrived for u today!" i mean, that's freakin' crazy. at first they were mean to my cousin b/c she was single, but they found out that she was a lil older so then they were like, "please be nice to shinhwa, okay?" at that time, my cousin just started driving so they'd help her park and stuff. hilarious, huh? but shinhwa stayed only for a couple of months and left. oh well. hehe. okie, sorry for the long stories. i'm so glad i'm here now. and i'll be saving myself bus money too. :D have a great day people!
