did i lose my sense of humor here?: maybe i just don't "get" fob humor... this co-worker (yeah, there's ANOTHER one) who's thai, gets on my nerves. he scratches MY head and used to poke me in the side (which I HATE), but most of all, he opens his mouth... fob: hey joyce! give me five dollars! me: ... (TRIED to ignore him) fob: lend me $5 and i'll give you $5.50 tomorrow! me: we're not going to be here at work tomorrow. fob: oh well, then i guess you can't get your money! HAHAHAHAHA!! me: ... (i look back to my computer screen) what da freak? he always jokes around like that. yeah, it's REAL funny. should be a stand-up comic. he's also on the social committe with me at work and whenever we have a meeting, he's ALWAYS rushing us saying, "are we done?" "are we finished?" "is that it?" DOODE, if you don't have time for this, then don't do this. (i was forced onto the social committee by my boss, btw. i would never socialize with my co-workers. haha.) and then when he decides to just get up and leave, he does. but we didn't care so we kept having our meeting. then he comes back and says AGAIN, "are you guys finished?" i don't know what to call him, but i'm Christian and trying not to sin. ;P btw, rosie, for some reason i can't comment on your page. the comment page times out every time i click on it. strange. thanks for ur comments tho. :D tonight is chuck's with the young adults group and then mavs-watching afterwards. GO MAVS!! Squirted 4:46 PM by E-J Yithe friday 5 and more...: i am in a much better mood on fridays...definitely~ 1. What brand of toothpaste do you use? crest. 2. What brand of toilet paper do you prefer? quilted northern, but i'd prefer charmin', but it's more expensive @ sam's. 3. What brand(s) of shoes do you wear? nike, polo, jcrew, nine west, and some fob brand from korea. i've been wearing them so long that the brand rubbed off. 4. What brand of soda do you drink? i haven't had a soda is more than 2 months. really! i've gone without soda for a year once. just to see if i could do it. but nothing beats a cold coca-cola. although i BARELY got over my dr. pepper addiction from high school. (our school district was supplied soley by dr.p.) 5. What brand of gum do you chew? xylitol (spelling?) the korean gum that takes skank breath away. it's apple mint flavor. the best. **************************************************************************** ok that was uber-boring. alright, i was (in place of julie) was offered section 112, row A tickets for tonight's spurs game. row A is 15 rows back. AA is row 1. so yeah, they're still not the correct seats. so we're going to wait until tuesday to see what espn is going to do for us. if mavs play a game 6, julie can go. was thinking about selling the tickets yesterday and making about $400 though. could have bought a digital camera. speaking of cameras, i went to best buy last night. i love that store. it's so fun. and i learned alot of digital cameras. i decided that the camera that would best fit our family is the $280 one. not bad for a 3.2 mega-pixel. but my dad wants to think about it for a while. after that i went to jinbeh, a japanese restaurant near my parents' gageh (store). i haven't had sushi in a while so it tasted yummy!! i had fresh salmon, eel, and a fresh salmon hand roll. i wasn't feeling really hungry so that's all i ate. there was this one high school girl (white) who came in like she owned the place. she was saying "hi" to all the staff and trying to act all friendly with them infront of her friend (albino white). but what was annoying was when she'd address the sushi chef (korean guy), "hey, you!" that's so wrong. some people have no respect for elders. if you know them so well, get to know their names. sheesh. then i came home to watch the BORING eastern conference game. i wanted detroit to win b/c they're down 2 games, but jason kidd is too good and now detroit is probably going to be swept tomorrow. what was funny was when k-mart (kenyon martin) shot a free throw and completely missed the basket!!! the ball barely touched the net even. then you could see on his face go, "D--m" and make an embarrassed face. i couldn't stop laughing. that's just hilarious! alright it's time for lunch. can't wait for this day to be over. oh yeah, no work on monday!!! whoo HOO!! song of the day: mariah carey - fantasy (^.^)v Squirted 12:56 PM by E-J YiThursday, May 22, 2003
WHAT THE #@$%?!?!?!?!: remember that co-worker who never takes "no" for an answer? like i always tried to give her the benefit of the doubt b/c she's fob. not korean fob, but a fob from a south american country. so even though she says something rude or has a rude tone, i think, "she's fob. that's just the way it comes out." EH! WRONG NOW. that B just tried to embarrass me infront of her group (she's a manager)!! she handed me 2 piles of copies to make. 1 10-pg and 1 2-pg. i made the copies and handed it to her. (of course, one pile vertical, one pile horizontal) and all of a sudden, she comes to my desk... B: i asked u to make 2 piles of copies. i only have 1. where's the other pile? me: uh, i gave it to you. B: no, i don't have it. i asked you to make 2 copies and there's only 1. me: that's what i did. and then i gave it to you. B: no, i never got them. WHERE is it? me: i don't know what you're talking about. she starts walking towards the meeting room and i follow behind her big butt. B: see, i don't have it [looking at the copies i gave her] me: ... [just standing there looking around...not to mention 5 other co-workers are sitting there looking at us] B: see, i don't have it. what did u do with it? me: i didn't do anything with it. [i was getting more annoyed at this point.] the B looks to her left at a small pile of papers and sees the freakin' stack of 2-pg copies. B: ... [doesn't say anything. starts looking through the papers.] i walk out of the room. one of her co-workers is saying, "she's losing it." SO?!?! DOES THAT MEAN SHE CAN'T SAY, "SORRY"?? WHAT A B!!! OMG. i'm sooooooooooo ready to get the heck out of here. it's ridiculous of the way people are so unprofessional and rude. no wonder there's violence in the workplace. i'm about to pop a cap up someone's a$$!! Squirted 3:41 PM by E-J Yiwasssssuppp: another cute clip of caleb!!! btw, he's pretending to faint at the end. hilarious. annika sorenstam is doing very well. she's 1 under par. that's fantastic. i'm not all for women's rights or anything, but if you can play...play. and she's showing that she can. i've heard enough talk about her this week that i'm tired of hearing it. enough of this. although i didn't expect the mavericks to win last night, i didn't expect a terrible game marred by whistle-happy refs. it's was atrocious. i don't care about don nelson or del harris getting ejected, but when you put 3 fouls on dirk in 7 minutes, you KNOW that there's something goin' on. and our shots weren't going in. but it will get better. it should.
i had a great time with kristine last night watching the game. their tv is this rectangular wide-screen. it might sound surprising, but that $5,000+ tv isn't better than eddie's 50 (or 60?) inch square model. in fact, it squishes the players to make them look like midgets. it's a nice tv, no doubt, but i'd actually prefer eddie's. wow. me & kristine got to talking about how all of a sudden, so many dallas girls are interested in the mavericks now. alot of college girls are suddenly "WHOO HOO!! GO MAVS!!" not sure if they're interested themselves or just a bandwagon fan. i'm guessing the latter. i guess this is good for the mavs, but please learn about them and the game before you start saying, "WHY DOESN'T HE JUST SHOOT?" show the boys that you know the game. ; ) i don't appreciate the girls who root for the mavs SOLEY to get the guys' attention. and i know one who does. last night when i was driving home (around 11), my dad called and asked if i could stop by the grocery store to get haagen-dazs ice cream bars for him. that would take me another 15 minutes so i said, "i'll get it tomorrow". hung up and then i realized that 7-11 had ice cream and was going to just get whatever there. to my surprise they had the haagen-dazs bar that my dad likes (vanilla/chocolate almond) and spent $2.36(!!) to get it. he was pleasantly surprised when i brought it to him. he actually looked boolsang hae (sad, melancholy) sitting there watching PBS. but he was happy about the ice cream and i watched a tape of the 4th quarter of game 1 vs. SA with him. so things are good. and we're going out to dinner tonight! i just don't know where yet...hmmm~ i feel like eating chips and salsa. maybe i'll go to taco bueno today. i'm thinking of buying this digital camera. i'm REALLY, REALLY on the verge of buying it b/c i love taking pics. and i'll go snap-happy when i do. $330? makin' me hesitate. i better hear about those mavs tickets soon. song of the day: mariah carey - always be my baby...i've been listening to alot of mariah these days...(^.^)v Squirted 12:08 PM by E-J YiWednesday, May 21, 2003
whatcha do?: sam & hanna sent us this UNBELIEVABLY cute mpeg of caleb saying "whatcha do?" from the movie, tommy boy. it sounds like "doodoo doo", but it's cute anyway. hopefully this link works. [edit:] after trying d/l the mpeg, it played on my winamp. weird. btw, that's his mom, hanna, saying "whatcha do?". caleb is about 15 months old. i'm freakin' bored right now. there's absolutely NOTHING to do right now. the good thing is that my boss is out today. not THE boss, but my boss. so i can take a longer lunch today. hehe. *evil grin* since i'm so bored, i'm fillin' out one of these things... If you could change something in your life right now, what would it be: where i work. ugh. i almost fell asleep doing that. [edit:] after re-reading the above, i hope i'm not showing that i like "white" guys b/c i'd never marry one. i almost have to marry a korean, then chinese comes next. not really much options after that. last night i saw the show, "america's next top supermodel" hosted by tyra banks. dang, she's so pretty. it's like "survivor" for models. out of the 10, i only saw 3 or 4 that were worth keeping. everybody else is "average" even tho they beat out hundreds of others. they had to do a swimsuit photo shoot for jlo's swimline outside in the freezing winter in NY since the celeb photographer said, "you have to shoot the season before swimsuit season". good point. some girls were relaly cold and it "showed" if you know what i mean. one girl who weighed 114 lbs (they announce EVERYBODY's weight and height) was so cold that she could even pose. it was crazy. but dang, the pics came out good. kimora lee simmons is one of the judges. i don't think she's really pretty, but she's got a curvy body. i think i could judge models. i guess this is an embarrassing story, but i used to imagine that i could model. LOL, right? me, being 5'2"!!! i'd practice my poses, mostly facial poses. if i (ever) become a celebrity someday, i hope the "practice" comes in handy. this is the dellusional me. song of the day: eminem - sing for the moment (^.^)v Squirted 11:36 AM by E-J YiTuesday, May 20, 2003
the good, the bad, and the ugly: and there was plenty last night... the good: the mavericks won!!! and made 49 out of 50 STRAIGHT free throws!! that's freakin' amazing. people are talking about how eduardo najera missed the first one. dang, people are so cruel. i guess those 100 FTs after practice (by each player) does help. i'm still scared about the series tho. and i must apologize. i almost left during the 4th quarter yesterday. and i'll never do it again. (unless they're down by 30 with 2 minutes to go) larry and eddie said to stay and i'm sooooo glad i did. or julie would have had my head b/c i would have not had the last part taped for her. and we wouldn't want that. the game was freakin' long and i'm freakin' tired now. barely could keep my eyes open while driving. dangerous!
funny pic. dirk can dunk with his eyes closed! >.< the bad: dang yesterday at work, it stank like CRAZY!!! omg. the sewer/plumbing system was all wacked out and the smell was seeping through the vents. i seriously thought it was my bad breath at first, but i had a mint in my mouth. but it kept stankin' so i thought maybe i had an upset stomach and was farting and not knowing it. but it wasn't. finally somebody said that it stank and i was relieved that it wasn't me. so for the next HOUR AND A HALF, i was breathing into my pillow (that i have for my back) while i saw co-workers sniffing bath & body works lotion. stupid boss wouldn't let us go home like other departments. he has a door that he can close to stop the smell. he claimed, "it smells like horsesh*t". O REALLY??? the smell went away about 20 minutes before i left for work and i felt sick afterwards. i should have thrown up or something. btw, the plumbing problem was caused by the 1st floor ladies' restroom. i DID do my business in there before lunch, but i don't think i caused it...i think... speaking of smells...i don't know if i can watch games with larry anymore. if he's going to eat all those tacos/nachos bell grande/salsa/ice cream and say, "joycie, don't sit downwind from me", i don't think i want to be near him. yeah, i know he has that "problem" or whatever, but it almost made me gag. and i didn't even smell anything. the ugly: on a random, different note: i will never marry somebody dumber than me. and i'm talking in all aspects of life. he must be more observant than me, more educated in worldly issues, and be able to hold a conversation. a few days ago, i was in contact with some guy who could do neither of the above and it made me not only uncomfortable, but grossed out. i emailed sam about the whole poem thing and here's what he wrote back.... hey kid, i read the poem and was very impressed. obviously, somebody has been carefully paying attention to THE master of basketball trash-talk and learning her lessons well. i feel like a proud jedi master watching his paduwan learner going out and getting the job done. tell julie that she can repay me someday for helping her achieve such a high level of b-ball awareness and mastery. only sam would somehow use star wars as a metaphor theme. =) **TICKET UPDATE** aight. i got an email back saying that they're "working on getting us tickets". uh, first of all, it better not be no crappy seats up in the 3rd section. and it better be so close that i can see the freckles on raef lafrentz's shoulder or dirk's nosehairs. i printed out all of the email correspondence just in case i gotta use them as evidence. ESPN better think again before they think they're going to screw the Park familly. yesterday i was watching the korean movie, "gah mun eh young gwang" (marrying the mafia). funnier than i thought. i liked how the kim jung eun's brother would do that squeaky thing with his hands. lol. it's raining today. which is good and bad. good b/c i don't have a sun shade since my dad threw mine away and the rain will be a cover from people seeing me sleep in the car. bad b/c raining makes me not in a good mood. i just want this day to end so i can go home and take a nap. tonight's me & dad's first meal together since my mom & sister went to NY. we got in a family fight (me vs. them) before they left so i'm sure tonight's not going to be real comfortable. great... song of the day: mariah carey - through the rain...although i HATE the way she sings until the climax. she sings horribly now, but the melody is pretty. from slam online...(located in my linx section) FROM: LUVNESS2000 SUBJ: (NONE) Tickets to a Lakers game $125, A hot dog at the game $3, Kobe crying like a b*tch.....PRICELESS! no doubt, that was a shocker to see kobe & fisher crying. oh well, glad that they're out of the way. i had more to say, but i forgot. but i had to post up that pic. i actually like kobe, but man, it does make all the laker-haters get a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. :D Squirted 2:47 PM by E-J Yiaustin city limits: a recap of the weekend and much, much more... thursday: leave the work early. YES! get on the plane and see a dennis-rodman-in-drag lookalike. interesting. ann picked me up from the airport and we headed to kerbey lane with adrienne and jeff. good meal. then headed to tony ("bandwagon kings fan") bui (tony, ya know i got nothin' but luv for ya)'s apartment to watch game 6. i was there with edward kim, tony, and mellow. mavs lost. went to ann's and slept early. end of exhausting day. friday: **exciting mavericks thing happened. keep reading for the details.** me & ann go to burger hut/house (ann, i forgot the name) and had these good bulgogi burgers. it was like a fuddruckers owned by koreans. we went to the communications graduation to see adrienne, chae, and scott graduate. to our surprise, COOKIE MONSTER gave a short speech before the sesame street CEO gave the address. the funniest line from CM? "bye, now...me going to 6th street!" lol. funniest part of this graduation? watching 1 girl doing the "worm" across the stage, watching 1 person actually (looked staged) fall and my friend scott holding out a camera and taking pictures of himself walking across the stage. hilarious. then me & ann left early b/c we were both bored out of our minds and ann was tired of getting coconut oil on her pants. some black girls were sitting in front of us and the girl sitting infront of ann kept getting her hair on ann's pants. hahahaha. after some rest, me & ann headed to momoko's; a bubble tea/japanese gift shop place. so freakin' cute! and yummy drinks. then we headed to ANOTHER graduation. lydia & sean's graduation. we sat with terri, her fiancee steve(n?), and her baby, kylie. the enron whistleblower was the speaker. she was freakin' boring. there were a couple of ppa grads who made jokes about liberal arts majors. dang, business majors are so snobby, huh (i'm a business major)? afterwards, pics were takin' in the "it's-so-hot-i-can-hardly-breathe" humidity. (skipping paragraph b/c it got to long...i take care of my readers' eyes...haha) sean invited me to dinner with his group, but i was kinda reluctant b/c it was ALL FOBS. i mean, i can speak korean pretty fluently (i'm pretty good for someone born in america) and what not, but when it comes to real FOBS, it's hard to keep up. i was thankful that sean was lookin' out for me so i didn't feel too left out (although i kept my distance from most of them and vice versa), but things got considerable better when i met agnes (aka jiyoung unnie). turns out she's a sister of this girl, cecelia, in which we had the same flute teacher. totally small world. and she and her husband talked to me the whole night, joked around, and i didn't feel awkward one bit. i'm totally thankful to them. we ate at county line (after waiting over an HOUR), but it was all for sean. dang, can't believe the foo got a bachelor's and master's in 5 years. same with lydia. congrats to both!! after dinner, sean dropped me off at the bowling alley so i could hang out with sara, sandy, and the rest of the seniors. it was fun watching them bowl for a while, but when it got to the 3rd game, i was butt-tired. went to sara & sandy's to hang out until lydia came to pick me up. came to their place around 4:30am. >.< saturday: woke up early to get ready for yet ANOTHER graduation, my sister's. hopped on the southwest plane and was knocked out the whole way. me & julie went to mcdonald's for lunch and went to smu. right before julie was going to go into the buildng, she gets a call (on a saturday?!) and gets a job offer. she'll be making more bones than me. yeah, um, YOU can start paying for me now...julie graduates from school of engineering. NERD ALERT!! there was this one guy who freakin' graduated with more than 5 majors. I'M NOT KIDDING YOU. his hat was tilted b/c there were so many tassles. what a loser. then some guy proposes to his gf while she's getting her masters degree. ahh..nerds in love. after the ceremony, we head to la madeleine (however u spell that) with the young adults for some fun conversation. and now's the **EXCITING NEWS** (and then gets not-so-exciting)... friday morning, me & julie try to get tickets to game 7. didn't get through and they sold on in 8 minutes. julie was totally bummed out. later that day, she's listening to espn radio and they announce that they're having a poetry contest for game 7 tickets. and they're just not ANY seats. they said this about the seats: "NOT 3RD TIER. NOT SPRITE ZONE. YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO TOUCH THE CEILING. NOT NOSEBLEEDS. YOU'LL BE SITTING NEXT TO CELEBRITIES." now, if YOU had heard this, you're thinking almost courtside, right? cuz THAT'S what they said. so julie gets all excited and starts on her poem which takes an hour for her to write. and she submits it...here's the poem... A MAVERICKS POEM Let me tell you the remarkable tale of basketball a long time ago Where a lonely mavericks team was miserable, with a winning percentage very low It was pathetic, yet we went to the games even when it was hard to cope There was no doubt that many fans began to lose much hope We were laughed at and ridiculed and make no mistake it hurt But suddenly a young rambunctious owner arrived and soon made us alert Things began to change and it all began to start We began with the base, Mike Finley -- who soon became the team's heart Soon came along Nowitzki and Nash and it soon became to be, Suddenly everyone knew us and they became notoriously known as the Big Three Don't underestimate the blonde 7-footer who hits 3's nothing but net If only he were black, we could call him German Chocolate Finley, now there's a captain who's always got his teammate's back Now, if only we could just convince him that he needs to attack the rack Forgive Nash for his anti-war comments, he didn't know it was a sin We have to parden his actions, after all, he's only Canadian And who could forget Nick at Nite, he not only talks the talk but walks the walk He fears no one, Kings & Lakers included, he's been as steady as a rock We need not worry about Webber who is out and should not be considered a real man What goes around, comes around -- that's what you get for what you did in Michigan Don't worry about Divac, who also looks like that cat from The Professional, Floppy will get another contract -- I hear Marlboro's going to give him a call You know the Kings have celebrity look-a-likes on their team as you can see, Bobby Jackson, hey's it a grown-up Webster! and Mike Bibby - no one other than Mini-Me. And congratulate the Kings you guys, we will congratulate them before they go back home, They have Hedo Turkaglu who is the first NBA player with down syndrome. Don't be scared Mavs fans, have faith and give each other hugs, We need to trust in the Mavs to stay strong, unlike gloom & doom, AKA chuck cooperstein & newy scruggs So get ready Mavs fans, Game 7 on Saturday night is guaranteed to be fun, When we face the Queens tomorrow, don't forget: F'EM, F'EM, F'EM! this poem WON THOSE TICKETS!!!!!!! she had to read her poem over the air and the sports guys could NOT stop laughing! it was freakin' amazing. so she was supposed to get the tickets before the game. we head over there all pumped up and we get the tickets and... SECTION 311, ROW H, SEATS 14 & 15. WTHECK???? (to the espn staff) "uh, these aren't our tickets. we were promised GOOD seats. not these seats." "i'm sorry, those are the only ones that were given to me." >O >O >O julie makes a call to the promotions director. she doesn't know either. she says, "IF they win tonight, we can try to get you tickets for the next round. IF they LOSE, you'll have to wait until next season." @#$%^%$&^!!!! and she tries calling the program director. can't get a hold of him. then julie calls her again and WE can't get a hold of her! @#$%$&%^&*^&!!!!! we were beyond pissed. imma about to go "falling down" on somebody. (michael douglas movie) me & julie decide to either sell these bunk tickets or find that program director. it's around 6:30. we say "F'EM" and sell it to this black guy for $110. (the tickets were $44 each.) and we (luckily) get our parking money back ($20). nice. although we were bummed like crazy, i was glad that the mavs won.
but yeah, imma emailing that promotions director today. i'm going to be "julie". julie's in NY now. and so if they get me tickets for game 3 this friday, imma have to find somebody to go with. :) now i'm back at work. tired and i gotta go #2. i hate this place. atleast i'm goin g to the pyuns to watch the game. enough writing now. i think i got carpal tunnel syndrome. seriously. song of the day: mariah carey - when i saw you (^.^)v Squirted 10:56 AM by E-J Yi
