i hate my computer!: dangggggggggggggg. i just wrote a whole long entry and my stupid arse computer erases my whole entry. AHHHHH. crap. i HATE THIS PLACE!!!! ok. cuz i want to write what happened yesterday i will, but it's probably less detailed. which is probably good for u, no? :) yesterday i went to the fitness club next to my house to get my free session with a personal trainer. her name was mandy and she's very nice. no guy trainers for me. anyways, she had me go through this routine: *6 minutes on the treadmill: easy, breezy so far... *some hammie stretches: ouch...this hurts...ouch...my leg can't go up that straight...ouch... *leg pushes (i know that's not what it's called, but that's what i was doing): oh, kinda heavy, but manageable *pushing out machine: dang, she put it on kinda heavy. lil ouchie *leg lifts: my favorite. just sitting down, swinging my legs... *free weights: ouch! i could feel my shoulder and chest muscles tightening *triceps machine: feel like i'm pumping air into an inflatable object *lower back machine: helps with my lower back muscles. kinda hard *crunches: i learned how to do them correctly and they hurt! she said i did a great job. and i actually enjoyed it. but my parents aren't happy with the cost. $36/hr for 16 sessions or $40/hr for 10 sessions. plus membership fee. this lady also works for 24 hr fitness and she says it's cheaper here. my parents said that they will personally train me for free. HA. like they know what to do. so i have a dilemma: personal trainer or elliptical machine? either way, i'm coughing out about $400. finally got my amazon wish list working. posted on the side. i really don't need any of those things, but it was actually fun picking them out. :) some lady is trying to set me up with some guy and he called me yesterday. we talked about 30 minutes. more like, he talked for 25 minutes and me 5 minutes. he seemed okay i guess, but i'm not happy with the fact that he doesn't speak korean better than me. i want my man to be better at me at everything or almost everything. i dunno. i already know his brother and that's not saying much, either. doesn't look promising. did i mention i hate this place? i'm getting bombarded with pointless projects. taking the workload off of everybody else who makes craploads more than me. DO YO OWN JOB, OKAY? GEEZ!!! right now i'm doing crap for people in other countries. WAHT DA FREAK?? and i figured out why people hate the new boss so much. here's a recap of what he said or did during our quarterly meeting: *"hey, was it worth it? was that last cigarette worth it?" - taunting the handful of co-workers who showed up to the meeting 5 minutes late b/c they were having a smoke outside. *"guess what my friends brought me? 2 chicago-style pizzas and sausage! i love them. and i'm taking off early so that i can show them around dallas" - taunting all of us infront of one of his "chicago" friends and promptly leaving while all of us have to suffer through a boring-arse presentation. *"good news everyone! we have budgeted for THIS YEAR to be fully staffed. that means nobody's getting...yeah, we're going to be fully staffed THIS YEAR" - announcing that this year everybody has a job and nobody's getting f----, well, he stopped himself from saying "fired", not the four-lettered word. *"yeah, 4 women have gotten pregnant...t-------, a--, c------" - announcing that "c" had gotten pregnant when she wanted to break the news herself. he did the same thing to "t". what a jerk. btw, for some reason, ever since he came 9 months ago, he had an ozarka water cooler installed, 3 women have gotten pregnant. yeah i haven't had any of that water. anyways, yeah, that's what i have to work with. under the category, "and i thought we lived in a barn": i found out yesterday that one of my co-workers, who's probably in his 40s, didn't have a tv growing up. and didn't even watch movies. now that he has a dvd player in his computer, he's going crazy watching all the "new" movies like "sixth sense". dang, and i thought i was deprived. on the other hand, he's an AWESOME photographer who's been published in national geographic. oh well, i guess there is life outside tv. but i wouldn't know. haha. watched some men's figure skating last night. gayness all around, folks, gayness all around. anyways, that's enough for now. i'm so glad that today's friday AND i'm catching the mavs game tonight. whoo hoo! :) thanks for lunch, young! it was delish~! omg, my other boss just brought in her 2-week old black, toy pomeranian. sooooooooo cute!! i want a puppy now!! wah~! song of the day: how much is that doggie in the window? woof! woof! anticipation: this day was full of anticipation. not really nail-biting, but just some lil anticipation here & there... went to lunch with some of my co-workers @ an italian restaurant for lunch. pretty good. AWESOME BREAD!! didn't know if i would know what to talk about with these people, but i found out that old people watch "idol", too. cool. and i thought i was deprived: one of my co-workers grew up with NO TV!!!!!!!!! can you believe that??? he's like over 30 now, possibly in his 40s. so like now that his computer has a dvd, he's been going mad. never even watched movies when he was little. instead he's an award-winning photographer. i guess there IS life outside tv. like i would know. tehe. i went to a travel seminar at work hoping to win the prize of 2 domestic tix from AA to anywhere in north america. didn't win. got a lousy delta cup. =\ could she be the female tiger woods?
michelle wie (pronounced "wee") is 13 years old, 5'10", and drives 300 yards!!! WHAT A FREAK OF NATURE! but alot of people are betting on her to be the "next big thing". oh and did i mention she's Korean?? hehe. yeah, i have too much Korean Pride. if you wanna hear nick van exel & dirk nowitzki talk smack on the radio, go here & hurry. the clips will probably be taken down in a couple of days. aite. i'm over and i'm out. Squirted 3:33 PM by E-J Yimeet the stupids: do you guys remember this book? it was greatness. oh & if you scroll down the page, you'll see that amazon has a sense of humor: "Customers who wear clothes also shop for:". that's funny. omg, what are they thinking???: Gasoo Yoon Do Hyun was especially vocal when he himself showed up in front of the National Assembly Building to lead a one man protest. A total of 76 gasoos either attended the March 25 rally or signed their names in protest. The actual number of people actually amounts to about 200 gasoos if you count all the group members. They included Lee Hyun Woo, Shin Hae Chul, Jo PD, Shin Sun Woo, Deli Spice, Boohwal, Yoon Do Hyun Band, Jaurim, Cherry Filter, Park Hyo Shin, Lee Ki Chan, Diva, JTL, Jadu, MC the Max, Shinhwa's Kim Dong Wan and Shin Hye Sung, god's Danny Ahn, Baby VOX's Shim Eun Jin, 1TYM's Song Baek Kyung, 5tion's Lee Hyun, K-Pop's Yoo Bin, Lee Jae Jin, Click-B's Oh Jong Hyuk, Joosuc, Ak Dong Club, Seven and Wheesung among others. In a written statement at the rally they encouraged the "Bush administration to stop the mass slaughter" and warned that if Korea doesn't recall its plan of dispatching troops a nationwide anti-war movement would be held. Yoon Do Hyun even said that he's planning to include a song protesting America's attack on Iraq in his upcoming 6th album scheduled to be released in May. "The song will be about a big kid bullying a smaller weaker kid." said Yoon Do Hyun. - from solid's website. go d/l mp3s there too. korean people can be so stupid sometimes. especially entertainers that aren't educated. don't quit your day job. sheesh. i think i'm suffering from basketball withdrawal. i haven't seen a mavs game since last thursday. >.< atleast we're winning w/o fin. but yeah, either i need to see the portland or minnesota game this weekend or i'm not going to be a very happy camper come monday. dang. my stomach hurts. >.< i am literally making that face. ugh. yesterday i watched the 3rd "bachelor". the firestone guy. seems like a good catch. asian girl ain't pretty. she got big teef. doesn't look like she's making the first rose ceremony anyway. and there seems to be prettier girls than last time. probably not going watch. haha. backstreet boys are delaying their album?!?! that totally sux. i bet they couldn't agree on something. maybe they're still annoyed that nick went solo. and a.j. probably needs to concentrate on his fiancee. well, whatever the reasons may be, this sux! and the kelly clarkson/justin guarini movie has been moved back 2 months! and they don't even have a soundtrack planned? that the dumbest thing i've ever heard. they shot the movie in 31 days. if you're going to rush like that, you better be straight with the planning. the people who work in production & planning need to be fired. gosh. ok. i'm playing a waiting game with my future. please pray for me. song of the day: boa - jewel song finally found the link to this pretty song. enjoy! taken from mtv.com. awesome. yesterday i went to go visit won. he might be getting out today. for a moment i thought, man, i'm missing celine & that chinese documentary, but when i got there, he puts everything in perspective. i don't care about celine. i don't care about documentaries. no, it doesn't seem that won is in danger or anything, but visiting the hospital makes u realize how much more important people are. so much more. he seems bored, but okay. probably more embarrassed to see me than me feeling sorry for him. anyways, i hung out there with their family. side note: saw a semi-attractive (asian) doc there. probably taken. oh well, never gonna see him again. had to get out of there before an hour was up so i don't have to pay for parking. when me & ho were walking to the car, there was 5 minutes left. when i got to the gate which took about 3 minutes, there was freakin' 1 minute left!! so i quickly handed the ticket to the guy and was like "omg...omg..." but luckily, he says, "no charge". whew~! yeah i'm cheap folks. (^.^)v something big might be happening soon. can't say what yet, but probably will know the future in a couple of weeks. pray for me that the outcome will be good. song of the day: jc chavez ("shah-zay") - blowin' me up (with her love) from the drumline ost. the life of joyce park: just a sample of what i did yesterday... yesterday after work i headed for walgreen's so i could get my film developed. then i walked around walgreen's and picked up items that i felt like getting. i got clean & clear (blue) powder, 2 cherry chapsticks, velcro for my tolltag, 2 photo albums, l'oreal architect mascara for my moms, and US weekly about celebs who do and don't get implants. and the total? $37.19!!! what da freak? i'm telling ya. those lil stores are so much more expensive than wal-mart. i was a sucka to buy into all that. oh well. =\ got the pics back. will scan the pics later today to be put up in my photo album. pics of avery johnson & najera came out good. thanks won! speaking of won, i found out that he's in the hospital for a week. please pray for him. gonna visit him either today or tomorrow. =( cindy said one of the funniest things i've ever heard: "joyce, you're so girly!" i busted out laughing like crazy. NOBODY has ever said that to me. she said it was my actions. you know what caused her to say that? me drinking a bottle of water!!! what da...i've never been called "girly" before. haha. news to me! =P edward um also makes me laugh: "I SHOULDA SAID OVERCAT!" - during taboo, when the word was "underdog". LOL! i have a friend who's having trouble in their relationship with their significant other. it's been a while since they've been going out. i've read alot of articles on dating and heard from alot of people about it, but i've only had 1 bf. i hope that whatever i'm saying is helping. i really do. julie is sucha wonderful sister. she really is. celine dion special on tonight. and a documentary on chinese-americans trying to adjust between 2 cultures on pbs. i want to watch both! >.< song of the day: dj sammy - heaven (^.^)v Squirted 12:33 PM by E-J YiMonday, March 24, 2003
believe it or not: Korean Guys vs. Chinese Guys: - Korean guys drink, smoke, and fight too much. - Chinese guys may drink or smoke on occasion... but rarely fight. - Korean guys boast constantly. - Chinese guys are judgmental and opinionated. - Korean guys rebel against the pressures from home and rebel against the expectations their parents have for them. - Chinese guys have a hard time dealing with the pressures from home but try as hard and make themselves miserable trying. - Korean guys would rather hang out with their guy friends than be around their girlfriends after a few months dating. - Chinese guys would rather spend time with their girlfriends and find things they both enjoy doing together instead of doing what they normally do for fun with "the guys". - Korean guys are usually either "preppy", "thuggish", or "AzN" types. - Chinese guys are usually either "preppy", "geeky", or "banana" types... - Korean guys are convinced that Asian girls are the only race they have a chance with. - Chinese guys usually have a better shot with a non-Chinese girl because they have friends who are non-Asians. - Korean guys are on average from 5'6"-5'11". - Chinese guys are on average from 5'9"-6'2" Korean Girls vs. Chinese Girls: - Korean girls try to act really ghettofied and badass (which is annoying) when they're around guys. - Chinese girls can act really prissy and almost helpless (which is also annoying) when they're around guys. - Korean girls act like they lead a life of privilege and act really spoiled even if they're not that well-off. - Chinese girls act relatively down-to-earth even if they come from a wealthy background. - Korean girls may express guilt about their parents giving them so much yet they do little to please them. - Chinese girls respect their parents and feel bad when they feel like they've let them down. - Korean girls give their boyfriends a really hard time and are super high-maintenance. - Chinese girls do all that they can for their boyfriends and are grateful for even the smallest of gestures. - Korean girls have a love/hate relationship with other girls... they are threatened by girls who may be seen as "better". - Chinese girls feel closer to their girl friends than their guy friends. - Korean girls are generally more reluctant to enter an interracial relationship due to their parents' dislike of non-Koreans. - Chinese girls are generally more accepting of dating outside of their race. - Korean girls are on average from 5'1"-5'6". - Chinese girls are on average from 5'3"-5'8" interesting huh? i think the guys' part is a lil more accurate than the girls. right? Squirted 3:59 PM by E-J Yiguess who's back?: yay! i had a GREAT time in austin...and eminem won an oscar! whoo hoo~! :D (dang, i'm already sick of work already and it's only 10am...) friday: me & julie drive an HOUR to get to fort worth. i will never live there. i'm a dallasite. finally me & cindy get going on the road. i was really tired, but glad that i was on my way for some relaxation. we get there around 6 and head to cindy's friend, nancy's apartment. turns out that nancy was my mom's former violin student! what a small world, huh? then us 3 head to free birds. cindy is crazy about this place. joe & scott join us there. then joe takes off for acts while scott and 3 girls (surprise, surprise!) go to HEB to help scott with groceries. scott heads off to acts while the 3 of us head to basic. we came "fashionably late" (b/c we didn't want to be introduced in front of everybody again) and they were at the beginning of their skit that sara (aka 'taylor') was in. pretty good skit. the scene that most people paid attention to was when the guy told the girl that he liked her and the girl just wanted to be friends. sara said she could see all the guys in the audience leaning in closer with their eyes wider than usual. i guess we all could relate to that. me, a lil too much. after basic, cindy & nancy took off and i went to ez's (i always go there in austin!) with the basic people. *ok, seeing that i'm writing in too much detail, i'm just going to list some things instead: memorable moments of the weekend: *talking with nah-rah (nathan) who was looking spiffy in his "detective friday" outfit *seeing a skinny, little guy get drenched in soda after he b-slaps a huge guy @ ez's *sara: international spy *"bye, heromme~!! - sandy *sara living vicariously through sandy ("walks around naked in her apartment") *i bowled a 99. after like 2 or more years of non-bowling. pretty good, huh? *thanks chong for the game! ^.^ *lunch @ trudy's with ann *sharing secrets with ann ^.~ *looking at old high school pics with ann & lydia - soooooo much fun!!! *seeing clement, chaehwan, sean looking REALLY dorky *watching arizona/gonzaga @ sean's *looking @ peetah's pics *watching sean balance a stupid pole (but actually very impressive) *scaring the crap out of peetah infront of the apartment: "hi peter" *the cat that scared the crap out of sean *me & sean yelling at the cat *"on the phone with sean": LOL~! *eating dinner w/sean and figuring out who's pretty and who's NOT. haha. *gabbing with sara & sandy *playing taboo with tony, chae, edward *watching sara & sandy getting their slaps *lunch @ ez's (again!) sunday with cindy's friend who turned out to be this girl i was mean to a long time ago (me and my friends used to try to snap off her bra when we were younger. don't ask me WHY we did it. i'm still confused.) *going back home with cindy and scaring the crap out of her while driving *singing karaoke @ home with cindy what a list. it was one of the best weekends in austin that i've had. i laughed soooooo much until i cried. thanks to all who spent time with me. :) i decided that i'm going to start taking more pictures of friends. ann & lydia had so many photo albums full of wonderful memories. that's my project. gotta buy some photo albums soon. now i'm back here. and it totally sux. i am really wanting to get out of this job. i am beginning to hate this job more and more. it's making me more & more unhappy the more i think about it. after talking with cindy, we thought that we really needed to go to cali for a while. for a change of atmosphere. i totally agree. i need new climate. oscars recap: steve martin had good jokes, but the timing seemed too rushed. michael moore is an arse. catherine zeta-jones was about to bust out. renee zellweger can't smile b/c of her botox. can't believe adrian brody won. glad that chris cooper won, he looks scary. eminem beat u2? definitely been eminem's year. even tho 'chicago' won all those awards, i still don't have a desire to watch it. i'd rather watch 'the pianist'. i guess that's enough for now. song of the day: backstreet boys - drowning (^.^)v Squirted 10:43 AM by E-J Yi
