a friend in need, is a friend indeed: is that the correct saying? oh well~

i realized that i haven't complained about my co-workers in a while. i guess i'll do that now. haha.

*there was this woman who i used to like alot. she's from venezula (spelling?) and thought she was nice. at first, i took her straightforwardness (is that a word?) as her being a somewhat fob, but then i realized that i was giving her too much credit. she's just rude. she DOESN'T take "no" for an answer. she asks me a question and if i answer, "uh, no...we don't", SHE FREAKIN' ASKS ME AGAIN!! so again, i say "no". and she just looks at me blankly and just says "okay" and walks off. GRR!! that happens about once a week. 2 or more if i'm really lucky. dang, people! NO MEANS NO!

*another co-worker: makes that noise that brass (band) people make to loosen their lips. i don't know how to spell it really...sounds like "pppbbbbbtttt". and then she smacks them or makes a clicking sound. gosh it's annoying!!

i guess that's all for now. but it's got me in a huffy (is that a word? i know it's a bike...) this mornin'. hmph!

last night's tv recap: i watched most of "are you hot" last night. it was a beauty pageant w/o the talent. me & my mom were going "hot" or "not" with the judges. it was quite fun. i agreed with most of the judges (randolph duke - designer, rachel hunter, and lorenzo lamas - who's a freakin' gross jerk). it was cool to see ken kim (VOTE NOW for him! until 3pm ET) go onto the finals though. he has an okay body and his face is pretty okay, too. very asian-y looking and that's why they picked him. he looks like a perfect model though so if he doesn't win (which he won't) maybe he can model for randolph duke who "loved his hair". only 2 "hot" girls. others weren't. anyways, i don't really see anything wrong with the show. they're just picking future models. i watched parts of "survivor", too. i was thoroughly surprised that the "girls" won the immunity challenge. asian guy is still in there. but i think he'll get the boot soon. he's too cocky.

are you ready? has anybody actually prepared for the war yet? like have you stocked up on water & canned goods? you think it's too early? my dad's getting worried.

cute answers from the mavericks about their favorite cartoons growing up. beat the grizzlies tonight!! please~

let me tell you this: guys suck. especially if you're acting like a jerk to your ex. if u ever do it again and i see you, i'll snap your head back so far that you can see your butt crack, then i'll pull your head between your legs that you smell nothing but your butt. hmph!

i finished reading shaq talks back. very entertaining. i've officially became a fan of shaq. he's cool. and i think kobe is the next michael jordan. did you know he scored a 1420 on his SATs??? =O and he doesn't party like other nba players do. i have much respect for him. still hate the lakers though.

i woke up with a sore throat this morning. ouch. and this morning i've been sneezing constantly. i hope i'm not getting sick. =P *ahhh-chooo* *wipes nose* >.<

all of a sudden, this song popped in my head. i don't know how sings it, but it's a really sweet song we sing during the Children's worship service:

i need a friend i can really depend on

not just someone funny or cool~ (echo: funny or cool~!!)

(forgot some lines here)

friendship is a gift from God, a gift i can choose,

i'm so glad He's brought me to you~

oh, i thank God for a friend like you

when i face a trouble you help me through (echo: when i face a trouble!)

i know that your word will be wise and true (echo: wise and truuuuueee)~

oh, i thank God for sending me...a friend like you~ (friend like youuuuuuu...friend like youuuuuuuu~)

that's my song of the day! (^.^)v

happy v-day folks. i've gotten told that 3x already! <3

what's going on?!?!: omg. the mavericks lost AGAIN last night. i don't know why they're making stupid mistakes. i have NO idea why nash took that 3 pt shot from a foot behind the arc. i don't know why finley, who then got the rebound, doesn't wait, but just shoots it off and completely airballs it. i don't know why a foul for that wasn't called either. how could you lose to sam (i'm E.T) cassell?!?! grrrr. they BETTA not lose to the grizzlies friday. or i won't be in a good mood this weekend. dang, we need a center. i hate to admit this, but i'd trade FINLEY, la frentz, AND whatever bench player (except najera) for SHAQ. that should be close to shaq's monetary value, right? lakers don't need shaq. they got kobe. who to me, is da man right now. dang.

yesterday, before the game, i was watching, "E! Hollywood Inside Story: Beverly Hills, 90210". some facts that i learned:

*jennie garth was the first person cast
*it was originally entitled, "class of beverly hills"
*luke perry was the last person cast
*they were slotted against the mega-hit "cheers" at that time
*luke perry used to pave asphalt infront of the very high school that they taped "90210"
*tori spelling changed her name to secretly audition, but the casting director probably figured out who she was, anyway
*most of them started acting/modeling at a young age
*they had no minorities on the show EVER and aaron spelling says, "to this day, it pains me to watch it".

pretty interesting. but i missed the part where they talked about stuff that went off-camera. like during parties. how shannon doherty (?) was THE bad girl. why did i miss it? b/c i was watching "idol: the results" show. not surprised by the results, although i wanted clay to make it. maybe in the wild card round.

another setback for sam & hanna. if they don't get their visas approved, they might not be able to go for another 6 months. which is GREAT for us, but i'm sure they'll be disappointed. anyways, we find out this coming week. i know people are like, "when is your pastor leaving??" haha.

found this blog randomly. very interesting. it's an account of a non-korean moving to korea to teach english and what sort of things he had to go through. read that page first, then this page next, then press HOME go read part 3.

maybe i'll do some reading now.

conformity: yesterday we (me, julie, sam, and hanna) had an interesting conversation about conformity. but i'll get to that a little later..

yesterday i watched parts of "idol". my thoughts: clay (the 1st guy, pretty geeky) has a GREAT voice. needs some more control with it, but i am rooting for him. he's the "anti-idol". doesn't have the looks, but has the voice. the shoo-in? ruben: the big, black guy from alabama. had the big 205 on his jersey. he was awesome. definitely will get through the top 10. if he doesn't, this show sux. that kimberley girl who was in "law school" (turns out to be a lawyer's assistant) sang great, but has a sucky personality. dissing simon that way? doesn't she know that america actually LIKES him?? if you diss him, you're dissing america's favorite judge. he tells it like it is, unlike paula who exclaimed that most of the crappy singers yesterday were "brilliant". ??? whatever. anyways, results show is tonight. should be interesting. hate the 2,000 commercials breaks in-between though.

mavs game: i didn't watch alot of the 1st half b/c of "idol". good thing i didn't. mavs were doing horribly. lots of turnovers and no D. but as i thought, EDUARDO NAJERA did his thang and helped us tremendously with D in the 2nd half. unfortunately, nick didn't hit those crucial free throws and finley shot too quickly on the potential game-winning 3. dang it. and pretty boy wally comes to the rescue. dang man! it was an exciting game, but man...i hope the mavs can win tonight. i won't be able to watch it, but please, let's not get into a slump. GO MAVS!!! :D

alright. now to the subject of conformity. julie's taking a social psych class and the professor exclaimed (in these words, more or less), "it is impossible not to conform". well, julie's prof hasn't met sam, the ONLY person i know who does not conform to others. we (julie, hanna, me) spent about an hour racking our brains on what sort of things sam could have conformed on, but couldn't think of any. an example of conformity that alot of people are guilty of? when you're dating and you conform to your significant other's desires/wants. sam didn't. i know he didn't. what about clothes? sam doesn't dress like any guys his age. i don't really see that many 33 yr old wearing a bowling-style shirt with a patch that has "yamaha" on it. (many people have come up to him and asked if he worked for yamaha.) food? sam is ALWAYS trying to not eat whatever everybody else is eating. some of the dishes he's eaten are totally off the wall, but he likes trying new things. all of us, we're just scared. i know for myself, i'm a mixture of both, which i think alot of people are. sometimes i lead, sometimes i conform. you're coming to a happy medium. making yourself and others happy. for example, i probably wouldn't have given a flying flip about chris simms unless ann hadn't said anything. i have now become a fan who's waited for 2.5 hrs just to get a glimpse of him and hoping against hope that he gets drafted in the 1st round. how about an example of how i've lead others to conform to me? i've gotten sara to crave chili's chips. haha. anyways, it was a cool topic and we got alot of laughs out of it.

although i called him yesterday, i forgot to mention, HAPPY 23RD BIRTHDAY SEAN! now you're caught up with me, you hahl ah buh gee (grandfather). =)

i am thoroughly enjoying manga (japanese anime) more and more. i'm on the 3rd book of initial D and on the 2nd book of love hina. jimmy and sam said that watching initial D was better than reading, but i disagree. the drawings are really amazing and you don't lose some of the translation or nuances you lose with subtitles.

great, supposedly i will have a big something to do from a co-worker. just great.

2 things i haven't touched on: the imminent (spelling?) war with iraq and the space shuttle columbia. the columbia tragedy was absolutely horrible, but i feel like i am so numb to tragedies these days. i know i come off as cold, but it's like i've grown accustomed to stuff like this that i don't give it a second thought. it's a horrible, horrible thing on my part, but i can't help to think that since the media coverage just oversaturates us with stories and images, i just get turned off. i don't want to listen or read about it anymore. and about the war? julie's been totally engrossed with how it will affect our lives and the details of what's been transpiring over there, but again, i don't seem to care. it seems like the same thing again and again. saddam/osama this, saddam/osama that. i'm waiting for these games to be over. i totally support bush in this. hurry up and get this over with. i got this off of this random girl's blog, but i found it very interesting:

For those who ask, "Well, why does the US have to get involved? Let someone else do it." My response is, "Holocaust". It happened cause we didn't get involved.

i finished with the content of my presentation for Bible study. yay!! i just need to make the visuals for it. :)

aite. i'm getting hungry and i have an hour until i eat...dang.

chicken and chips, chicken and chips: kibbles and bits, kibbles and bits. it rhymes, folks!

remember that fender bender i had a while back? when i made that 16 yr old sign a statement saying, "THIS ACCIDENT WAS ALL MY FAULT"? i made some money for my family so my dad promised to take us out to dinner. yesterday i felt like eating out for dinner. plus my mommy (i'm trying to sound like a wittle gurl) got some tooth/gum surgery and didn't feel up to cooking. so i went to the fanciest place i could think of. chili's, of course!! fancy schmancy, huh? i had told my parents about the AWESOME lettuce wraps and they were wanting to try it out so i suggest there. plus, i gotta get my monthly recommended intake of their tostada chips and salsa. and it was campbell's MMM! MMM! MMM! GOOD! dang. i was in heaven last night. :D we had a wonderful dinner PLUS my parents loved the lettuce wraps. julie thinks they're overrated. but julie also thinks there's a northwestern highway in dallas. our next dining experience for our parents-who-don't-like-eating-american-food-b/c-they-think-it's-fattening-and-will-kill-us? CPK!! whoo hoo~! i went on and on about the chicken dumplings! they live UP to da hype~! of course, julie & young can argue against that. =)

i am craving:

*sushi
*good ban chan (korean side dishes): namely pickled cucumber and o deng (or as tae would say it, "OH DANG!")
*good italian food (yes, young, i want to go to fazoli's)
*cpk's chicken dumplings and bbq chicken salad
*fat straws' strawberry slush

speaking of fat straws, my sister might be working there part-time for some extra dough. she absolutely loves their mango slush. they need a morning (people go in the mornings?) shift so we'll see what happens. FREE SLUSHES FOR ME!! =D uh, prob not. they don't even give free to their employees. sheesh! jimmy also might work there. HANURI church is taking OVA. hahaha.

tonight i'm (probably) going to watch the mavs game. KG. dang, he's good. ooh, gotta tape "8 Simple Rules"!! but i'm most looking forward to abc on thursday. why? it's the premiere of their new show, ARE YOU HOT?: THE SEARCH FOR AMERICA'S SEXIEST PERSON. lol!! should be entertaining tv. no talent, but looks good. i want to see what losers, er, contestants show up. i hope the dallas contestants don't look stupid.

i am having THE hardest time deciding on what to eat for lunch. fazoli's is too far away. but young is INSISTING on eating it. and I'M the one who brought it up. young, no fazoli's for me today. i must refrain until friday. where i can take a longer lunch. we've been having a 15-minute convo about this. and young's supposed to be working. lol. :D

dang. i'm hungry. i'll finish the little snickers/kudos bar that i have in my bag.

song of the day: jc chasez - blowin' me up (with her love) from the "DRUMLINE" soundtrack. (^.^)v

all-star weekend: caught the great game yesterday. well, honestly it was okay. i totally thought it was over when mj scored the fadeaway jumper with 3.0 sec to go. but then jermaine o'neal has to screw things up. well, i guess you could blame the refs for calling the 3-pt foul. oh well. the west won which is good too. sucked that nash didn't play so well. atleast dirk did. probably b/c i was wearing his shirt! :)

random thoughts from the weekend:

*sam has SBD (silent, but deadly) farts
*larry has LAD (loud and deadly) farts
*sam's recent diagnosis of diabetes has us all eating healthy. which actually, i'm thankful for. it was a shock, but i'm hoping that it won't be a big burden on him & his family in russia.
*kobe has guts. and i respect him for that. he's not going to miss game-tying free throws so that mj can have the game winner. good for him.
*yao's shoes did hurt my eyes. >.<
*i really "like" it when my parents tell me things at the last minute: "yeah, we're going to _____'s house tonight so you don't have a car." yeah, screw up my plans. sorry joanne! =\
*homeless outreach is rewarding. just don't run out of meat.
*don't get my sister mad.
*vince carter can dunk. so can mj. so can dominque wilkins. i was very impressed with his alley-oop this weekend.
*i want to get a sony 3.2 mp camera. but it's $400. is it worth it?
*i am freakin' annoying myself with not keeping up with letters.
*love hina vcd's coming soon!
*i think i'll have to hold off on having babies for a while.
*mariah carey needs to retire. harsh, i know. but i'm getting to the point where i'm dreading to hear her sing much less LOOK at her. yuck.

eduardo najera has a bar in highland park called TEN. julie says she's going up there.

i really need to:

*lose some weight. i guess that means exercising.
*work on my bball skills (or lack, thereof)
*get a haircut...i feel like steve nash
*write letters to prison inmates
*finish up alot of korean vids and return old ones
*be more patient with other people

alright. that's my boring entry for today. they're always boring, anyway.

song of the day: vanilla ice - ice, ice baby! they played this the other day on 100.3. (^.^)v
